Konstantinos Makedos is the President of TMEDE (Engineers and Public Works Contractors Fund – EPWCF) since its establishment on January 1, 2017, and currently serves as First Vice President of CrediaBank. He is a Civil Engineer, holding a Diploma from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MBA, and a postgraduate degree in Economic and Regional Development, with specialization in Urban and Regional Development and Real Estate Market Economics.

Leadership at TMEDE and Digital Innovation

Under his leadership, within the first nine months of operation, TMEDE evolved into Greece’s first fully digital fund, offering comprehensive electronic services to engineers and contractors. The organization demonstrated steadily increasing profitability while strengthening its core role in guarantees and credit support for the technical sector.

In 2018, Engineers and Public Works Contractors Fund (TMEDE) was admitted as a full member of the European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM), reinforcing its international credibility. In 2019, the Fund received approval as a “fit and proper” shareholder for a qualifying holding in financial institutions, marking a significant institutional milestone.

In 2022, in collaboration with the Hellenic Development Bank, Konstantinos Makedos played a key role in establishing the EAT–TMEDE Guarantee Fund, an initiative that received honorary distinction from AECM as a best practice in public–private partnership. In June 2023, TMEDE Microfinance Solutions S.A. became operational, representing the first microfinance company of an institutional entity licensed by the Bank of Greece.

Strategic Role in the Greek Banking System

Following a positive “fit and proper” assessment by the Bank of Greece, he served as Vice President of Attica Bank (now CrediaBank) from July 2019 and subsequently as Chairman of the Board of Directors until July 2023. During his tenure, the bank successfully implemented the conversion of Deferred Tax Credits (DTC), a first at European level, and laid the foundations for its restructuring and privatization.

Until September 2024, Konstantinos Makedos also served as Vice President of Pancreta Bank, contributing decisively to its merger with Attica Bank and the creation of Greece’s fifth banking pillar.

Institutional and Professional Contribution

Konstantinos Makedos is an elected member of the Panhellenic Representation of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). In 2016, he served as President of the former TSMEDE and as First Vice President of ETAA. Throughout his professional career, he has acted as consultant and technical advisor on major infrastructure projects, combining engineering expertise with financial and institutional insight.
