Redefining the future horizons: Planning Sustainable Strategies for Tomorrow

International conference powered by TMEDE on tackling the climate crisis, the challenges of creating a sustainable investment environment and shielding infrastructure
The Engineers and Public Works Contractors Fund (TMEDE) is organising a two-day International Conference titled “Redefining the future horizons: Planning Sustainable Strategies for Tomorrow“ to be held on June, 13 and 14 in Athens.
The impacts of the climate crisis have introduced a unique set of challenges and conditions that have taken center stage in current public discourse, both on a national and international level. In this regard, the State, the financial sector, the technical world, the scientific community, and Greek society itself must adapt their strategies to address the demands of this new reality by developing resilience and ensuring sustainability.
To this end, the TMEDE Conference seeks to provide a comprehensive analysis of these challenges by mapping, highlighting, and evaluating the risks, opportunities, and critical issues as they emerge from the Greek and global experience, as well as new scientific data.
More specifically, the forthcoming conference aims to address a range of pertinent topics related to our shared global challenges, including climate change mitigation, sustainable urban and regional development, significant strategic investments and infrastructure projects, and adopting ESG principles. It will also consider the integration of novel technologies and innovative solutions, examining the emergence of important initiatives and best practices for the cities and regions of the future, and deliberate on the available funding opportunities that can be leveraged through the utilization of European resources, such as the RRF and NSRF, as well as modern financial tools, based on international experience.
The conference will host an esteemed group of guests and speakers from domestic and international arenas. Among the participants are distinguished plenary speakers such as Mr. Yannis Stournaras, the eminent Governor of the Bank of Greece, and Mr. Carlos Moreno, a eminent Scientific Director and Professor at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.
Further details regarding the conference agenda and attendees will be released shortly.
