European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM)

TMEDE participated in the annual meeting of the European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM), which was held in Vienna and attended by over thirty members from European countries.

During the meeting, Dr. Harris Agiropoulos, TMEDE Chief Investment Officer and Ms. Athina Chatzipetrou, Chief Executive Officer at Hellenic Development Bank S.A., presented the operation of the innovative financial instrument: “HDB – TMEDE Guarantee Fund.”  This tool was presented to the European partners as best practice for the collaboration of Private and Public Bodies and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants.

TMEDE is a full member of the “European Association of Guarantee Institutions” (AECM). As an active member, TMEDE can exchange best practices at an international level, gain access to information on industry developments, as well as to conferences, studies, and events.

AECM is a strong and renowned association, consisting of 48 members, from 31 European countries. Since its establishment in 1992, it has provided guarantees to more than 2.8 million small and medium-sized businesses.

The participants renewed their meeting for the 29th and 30th of September in Athens, where the AECM will host its annual two-day operational training session with the support of TMEDE. The meeting will focus on the next day of guarantees as a service and the overall portfolio of options and products created around it.

While addressing the Annual General Meeting of AECM, President of TMEDE Mr. K. Makedos made the following statement:

I would like to congratulate Mrs. A. Chatzipetrou, the CEO at the Hellenic Development Bank, on her election to the AECM Board of Directors. The presentation of the tool that resulted from our innovative collaboration, with the Development Bank, as best practice, and the positive evaluation it received attest to the fact that TMEDE and HDB are paving the way for new initiatives, that will serve the financing needs of our industry’s professionals for sustainable development and progress .
