On Monday, 17.05. 2021, the President and CEO of the Hellenic Development Bank, Athina Hadjipetrou and the President of the Engineers and Public Works Contractors Fund (TMEDE), Konstantinos Makedos, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to facilitate access to funding for Greek engineers, designers and constructors, and support thousands of scientists, freelancers and small and medium-sized enterprises. 

The MOU was signed to bridge the financing gap of Greek engineers and small and medium-sized technical enterprises wishing to develop further, given the post-pandemic dynamic restart of the economy.  

The MoU provides for the design and implementation of appropriate funding access programs while offering support services to businesses in the design, construction and broader scientific sectors. 

In particular, one of the aims is to introduce innovative programs to support the working capital of the 30,000 engineers and contractors-credit beneficiaries of TMEDE and the 5,500 technical companies–members of the Fund. Another one is to produce studies and reports to support and promote the Technical Sector, creating thus multiplier effects for the real economy.
